Who is the owl featured in the paintings?

In March 2025 I took a trip to Canton, MA (accessible via MBTA!) to draw owls from life at The Museum of American Bird Art Education Center and Wildlife Sanctuary. The owl I painted was an Eastern Screech rescue named Winnie.

Their naturalists are so knowledgeable and passionate about local wildlife. Look at the little lasercut owl paint palettes they made for each drawing participant 😮🥰

After the event, I walked around the sanctuary’s 121-acre property and spotted frogs and turtles sunning themselves by a pond. Support the Museum’s public education offerings and join one of their programs!!
